A Look Back at 2014

2014 at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates was filled with beautiful and unique weddings. From wine box ceremonies to tree planting ceremonies, 2014 was certainly a year to remember! Edison & Ford loved all of our couples that we had the pleasure of working with this past year. We look forward to another wonderful wedding season in the upcoming year! Erica & John spent their special day with us back in May with a beautiful wedding on the Ford’s Riverside Lawn.

Danielle and Thomas had a beautiful Bougainvillea planting ceremony to symbolize their ever-growing love for one another.

Emilie and Ryan got married in front of our Mysore Fig tree. Before the ceremony, they decided to have a special and intimate first look.

Kelly and Eric decided to incorporate a wine box ceremony into their elegant and stunning wedding in the Royal Palm Allee.

Cheryl and Eric chose to get married the day after Valentine’s Day here at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates.

2014 also bought us fun photo-shoots like Joelle and Dylan’s Great Gatsby inspired engagement shoot.

The year also bought us yummy and unique treats for wedding guests!

Military Vows: Katrina & Kevin | Outdoor Florida Wedding Location

On September 10, 2011 (9/10/11), the day before the 10th anniversary of September 11th, Katrina and her U.S. Marine husband Kevin, were wed.  The 4:00 ceremony took place under the majestic Mysore Fig Tree at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers, Florida.  The entire wedding was scheduled only a few weeks before when the family got news that Kevin would be home from Afghanistan.  The result was an intimate family affair with a lot of love and a lot of laughter.

A Family United: Colleen & Brian | Fort Myers Wedding Venue

Colleen and Brian and their girls are one of those families that you can’t help but want to befriend.  During the planning process for Colleen and Brian’s spectacular wedding, there were countless phone calls and visits to the Estates.  Every bridal show between Fort Myers and Naples, I’d see their smiling faces.  To watch this beautiful wedding take place was bittersweet because it meant I wouldn’t see them as often.

Below are the photos from Luminare Foto that document not only their wedding, but their engagement session at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates and their family holiday photo session here as well.  Though their official wedding color was purple, and there were Florida elements like the beach and fishing abound, I think the real theme of this wedding was their family.

Jim Dalia (A DJ with Class) knows how to get the crowd moving at wedding receptions!

Each table at the reception was named after a different fish. These beachy white lanterns set the mood perfectly!

Sand dollar escort cards showed guests where to sit.

The bridesmaids’ hair looked great – love the braids!

Using 5 different colors of sand, the Crawley family, along with the minister, created a piece of art that will symbolize their union.

Hannah and Maddie nearly stole the show as they proudly tossed the flowers at Mommy & Daddy’s wedding.

As a surprise for Brian, Colleen slipped on some camoflauge garters – with fish on them!
